When it comes to the great outdoors, California’s Central Coast is a paradise, so we wanted to share a few of our favorite LGBTQ San Luis Obispo outings. The sunshine, ocean, vineyards, rolling hills, dunes and charming downtown areas throughout San Luis Obispo County make it an incredible place for LGBTQ outdoor enthusiasts.

Check out these 5 lovely LGBTQ outings in SLO County.

5. Olive Tasting at Tiber Canyon Ranch

We adore Tiber Canyon Ranch. Also a stunning wedding venue (check out Brandi + Amanda’s wedding), Tiber Canyon makes incredible olive oil. Open only by appointment, they ask that you just give a quick call the day before – (805) 781-0827. They look forward to welcoming you!

4. Strolling the Elfin Forest in Los Osos

Adjacent to the Morro Bay estuary, the El Moro Elfin Forest in Los Osos is a 90-acre natural area maintained by SLO County Parks and California State Parks. A 4/5 mile boardwalk loop offers the perfect distance for a peaceful stroll through a forest of maritime chaparral, coastal dune scrub, pygmy woodland oak and several other plant communities.

3. Wine Tasting at Baileyana

Let’s face it, there are SO many amazing vineyards to explore and go wine tasting on California’s Central Coast, but we just have a soft spot in our hearts for Baileyana. Not sure if it’s the ridiculously quaint, yellow schoolhouse tasting room, bocci ball court overlooking miles of vineyards, or incredibly nice people pouring a great selection of wine. Bring a picnic and soak it all in.

2. Cruising the Waters of Morro Bay

Otters twirling, seals barking, seagulls squawking, a bay full of buoyed boats with undeniable personality, iconic Morro Rock – it’s pretty hard to beat kayaking, standup paddle boarding, boating or any other kind of exploratory water activity in Morro Bay. Just do it.

1. Sunset Walk at Montana de Oro

If you’ve never done this, please go do it tonight. If you have done this, do it again soon. One of the most brilliantly breathtaking Central Coast outdoor spots that just never, never, never gets old…ever.
