Salon G is an ongoing community event brought to you by Santa Maria Valley’s GRACE (Gay Rights Advocates for Arts, Culture and Equality). Salon G wants to bring LGBTQ folks and their allies together for “culture, conversation, and community.” Salon G meets on the first Sunday of the month and is inspired by the salon-keeping example of Gertrude Stein (1874-1946), the legendary lesbian writer who grew up in Oakland and made her home in Paris where she and her partner, Alice B. Toklas, practiced art, culture, conversation, and community for three decades. We are a book group, a film group, and a road-tripping, conversation-enjoying bunch of fellow travelers who enjoy each other’s company. Join us!
